Chef Series and Food Photography
Working for Yamamori, a family-owned Japanese restaurant in Dublin City Centre, I art directed photo shoots for Yamamori’s new menus to boost the visual direction of the company’s food photography. Shoots included a selection of in-house premium cocktails, new food dishes, and their Yamamori At Home boxes. Tasks included food styling, art direction, and curation/formatting for social media and web.

Chef Series with Thiago
The Chef Series was an editorial project produced on Dublin-based Japanese restaurant Yamamori’s web blog with two installments, featuring their head chefs in an article and photo essay. The process included an in-person interview, a photo essay documenting the making of a special dish of the chef’s choice, and a short article exploring the chef’s personal and career background, as well as their approach to creating their particular dish.
The first Chef Series article featured Thiago Guerra discussing his fusion dish Foie Gras Unagi; and the second article featured Marcus Davies with his dish Black Cod in Saikyo Miso. Read both Chef Series articles here

“[Thiago] believes the details that go into the dish are important: the Japanese food aesthetic reflects the minimalist visual culture, but supports a complex and nuanced flavour palette. ‘The dream,’ he says, ‘should be a simple style and most similar to street food in Japan - that’s the goal.’”
